Dr. Jagan Mohan Ailinani, Chairman of Department of Radiology, Memorial Hospital of Carbondale and Clinical Professor of Radiology Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Carbondale, Illinois, was the prime motivator for this initiative. He was actively involved in formulating the policies and guidelines of Perspective in Medical Research.

He has occupied several leadership positions in his career like President (current) and past Treasurer, Secretary and Vice President of American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) during 1998 – 2004, President of Osmania University Medical Alumni Association of America during 2000 – 2003, President of American Association of Radiologists of Indian Origin (AARI) during 1998 – 2001, President, Medical Staff, St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Murphysboro, Illinois during 2001 – 2003, President of the Board, Abundant Health Resource Clinic (free medical clinic) during 2000 – 2002 and President of Jackson County Medical Society during 1998 - 2000.

Dr. Jagan is also a member of the American College of Radiology, Radiology Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, American Society of Neuroradiology, American Medical Association and Jackson County, Illinois State Medical Society. He has received a number of esteemed awards and recognitions like “Outstanding Teacher of the Year” award in 1985 and a Certificate of Appreciation, American Cancer Society, Crusade to Conquer Cancer.

Dr. Jagan is actively involved in conducting and promoting research and has published various research papers in scientific journals. He has also presented several papers in conferences and seminars.
