Abstract

Introduction:Progressive supra nuclear palsy (PSP) or Steele Richardson Olszewski syndrome is a neurodegenerative disease of middle and late age. The clinical features of PSP are similar to that of Parkinsons disease (PD), so easily misdiagnosed. Neuroimaging techniques like Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) of brain are also helpful in differentiating PSP from PD. Here we are presenting a case of how MRI helped for diagnosis of PSP apart from clinical features. Relevant literatures regarding the diagnostic utility of MRI in PSP were also reviewed.

Keywords: Progressive supranuclear palsy, Parkinsons disease, Neuroimaging techniques
